Concept of Technology... ITKIOSK Logo to ITKIOSK Home
What does technology mean?
When you ask educators this question, you may get an answer as:"Technology is computers with software and hardware." "In addition to computers, other media equipment with presentation media such as overhead projectors, slide projectors, audio cassette players, and VCRs."
However, majority of educational technologists believe that the conception of technology is "any systematized practical knowledge, based on experimentation and/or scientific theory (Gendron, 1977)."

In 1994, AECT proposed the definition of educational technology as:"Instructional technology is the theory and practice of design, development utilization, management and evaluation of processes and resources for learning (Seels and Richy, 1994)." From this point of view, educational technology does not reflect only technology hardware or software, but more importantly represents a process. This process involves design, utilization, and evaluation.
