REFUGEE CAMP TO BE CONSTRUCTED ON QVCC CAMPUS
Quinebaug Valley Community College students from Associate
Professor Nan Hirst’s philosophy and humanities classes and Assistant
Professor Jayne Battye’s international relations class will begin to build a
representation of a refugee camp starting Monday, October 15th, 2007,
outdoors, at the Danielson campus. Kelsey Evans, East Killingly, is the
student organizer of the event.
The camp will feature a medical space and a living space. The camp is a representative of life in most camps around the world but not particular to any geographic region.
This event is part of a year long interdisciplinary focus on sustainability. For additional information on this event, please contact Jayne Battye at (860) 412-7254.
