TEEG DIRECTOR HONORED AS MACE BEARER AT QVCC COMMENCEMENT
Donna
Grant, executive director of TEEG (Thompson Ecumenical Empowerment Group),
was selected to serve as the mace bearer, leading the commencement at
Quinebaug Valley Community College’s graduation on May 31. The honor goes to
an alumnus or alumna who has distinguished him or herself through further
accomplishment and service to the community.
Grant received a degree in human services from QVCC in 2002 and is a member
of the QVCC Foundation. A resident of Pomfret, she holds a bachelor’s degree
from Charter Oak University. Under her leadership TEEG has realized
significant growth in size and assets. She is also the Connecticut director
of the New England Rural Health Roundtable and a certified grant writer.
Among her recent recognitions are the 2007 Northeast Connecticut Chamber of
Commerce George J. Racine Humanitarian Award, Power of One community Award
from the Town of Thompson, Connecticut 4H Leadership Award, and UConn
College of Agriculture and Natural Resources Cooperative Extension Service
Volunteer Service Award.
