36th COMMENCEMENT WILL TAKE PLACE TOMORROW AT QVCC
One hundred ninety-nine students will graduate tomorrow from
Quinebaug Valley Community College at 6 pm. The ceremony will take place at
the Danielson campus, located at 742 Upper Maple Street. Both associate
degrees and certificates will be awarded.
Among the speakers will be Dr. Louise Berry of Brooklyn, chairman of the
Board of Trustees of Connecticut Community-Technical Colleges; Dr. Corby
Coperthwaite, Director of Planning and Assessment, representing the
Chancellor’s Office; Carol Wallace of the Board of Trustees; QVCC President
Dianne Williams; and the student speaker, Ndack Sow of Willimantic, who was
selected by a college committee.
Leading the processional will be the Mace Bearer, David Carter, a QVCC
graduate and currently a math teacher at Windham Technical High School. The
Banner Bearers will be graduates Melissa Chick of Columbia and Brent
Ducharme of Dayville.
The prestigious Board of Trustees Merit Award will be presented to Leona
Korrecta.
