LEARNING FOR LIFE PROGRAMS AT QVCC OFFER SOMETHING FOR ALL AGES
Career
seekers, lifetime learners, online learners, members of the business
community and others should pick up a copy of the winter/spring edition of
Learning for Life and discover the variety of programs being offered by the
Center for Community & Professional Learning at Quinebaug Valley
Community College.
For the business community there are small business workshops and supervisory development training. Career seekers can obtain training to be a certified nursing assistant, EKG technician, medical billing and coding specialist, web page designer, real estate agent or appraiser or travel agent.
For lifetime learners, programs are available for all ages—6 to 96! Kids Academy offers a February Break Week program and weekend art programs in March, while Learning in Retirement has an array of courses ranging from French to Health Issues to Jazz. For those in between, personal enrichment programs include personal self-defense, digital photography, gardening, safe boating, to name a few.
Technology programs include “Express Training” in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Word and QuickBooks. For those who enjoy learning from the comfort of home, Online Academy provides over 100 courses to choose from. A number of courses will be offered at the Willimantic Center. When spring rolls around in April, motorcycle basic rider training classes will be offered in Killingly, Norwich, and Groton.
