ACADEMIC ADVISEMENT

The faculty and staff at QVCC are committed to providing the highest quality of academic advising to ensure students successfully structure their academic programs. Students begin by completing an advising information sheet when they enroll: then, an academic advisor is assigned to each student enrolled in a degree or certificate. Advisors and students work together to develop and monitor an educational plan that is consistent with students’ stated goals. To meet with your advisor:

  1. To find out the name of your advisor, you may use one of the following options: Use Web for students, or contact the Learning and Student Development Office, or contact the Willimantic Center.
  2. To make an appointment with your advisor, contact him or her using his or her email address.
  3. Ask the faculty secretary in Danielson (Ext. 345) or the receptionist in Willimantic for a listing of your advisor’s office hours, leave a message for the advisor to return your call, or ask for the e-mail address of your advisor.
  4. Prepare for your meeting with your advisor; bring to the meeting any materials you think might aid you and your advisor in your discussions.
