I, Steve McCarty, call this First Meeting of the Board of Directors the World Association for Online Education to order. Directors may post statements of acceptance and attendance at this time in this conference thread of the WebBoard.

Greetings from Japan. This meeting is historic for inaugurating a new era of online organizational meetings. By the same token, observers please be forgiving if traditional rules of order are not completely applicable to the new medium and the globally dispersed location of the WAOE Directors. Even the roll call may be asynchronous because the day is different, directors are teaching and so forth.
