Martin currently teaches "Revolutions in the Modern World" at Quinebaug Valley Community College, Danieson, CT, and will be using materials in his class from his experience in working for peace and social justice in Central America. On one of his recent trips he visited Colombia, to see first-hand the devastating effects of the U.S. 'Plan Colombia' : a "privatized" military effort through the United States government, supported with US tax dollars, that involves—among other things-- the chemical spraying of the Colombian countryside. This spraying has devastating effects on Colombian farmers' food crops, as well as on the people themselves.
