Application for Admission
You need an e-mail account and credit card number before starting the QVCC online application.
The $20 application fee must be paid online using a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, or Discover) or debit card. If you do not have a credit card, download the paper application and submit with your $20 application fee by check, cash, or money order.
*Summer College Students: If you are only taking summer classes and will not be applying for Financial Aid should apply as a Non-degree student (NON DEG/MATRIC).
Submit the following:
FINAL HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT, DIPLOMA OR GED
Homeschooled students should submit a Homeschool Completion Form
IMMUNIZATION RECORDS for measles, mumps, and rubella if you were born after 1956. You will also need to submit immunization records for varicella (chicken pox) if you were born after 1980 (waived for students who are both non-degree and part-time). For further information and forms, click here.
• If you have previously attended college and would like to have your credits evaluated: Submit official transcripts from all colleges attended and fill out the Transfer Credit Evaluation form so that we may award transfer credit when applicable. Unofficial transcripts are adequate proof that you have met course prerequisites.
CHANGE OF SEMESTER: If you applied within the past two years but did not register for classes, fill out the Change Semester Form.
CHANGE OF PROGRAM: If you would like to change your program of study and have not yet registered, fill out the Change Program Form. If you have already registered or are a continuing student, please fill out the Change of Status form, available in the Enrollment Services office.

APPLY FOR FINANCIAL AID
Applying for financial aid is made easier by having the following materials:
• 2012 Student Federal Income Tax forms
• 2012 Parent Federal Income tax forms (dependent student)
• 2012 W-2s
• School codes - QVCC is 010530
• Student and parents Social Security Numbers
Register for your PIN at www.pin.ed.gov
Fill out a FAFSA at www.fafsa.ed.gov

BASIC SKILLS ASSESSMENT & NEW STUDENT WORKSHOP
You will receive your acceptance via Email. Now you need to schedule an appointment for the computerized Basic Skills Assessment (BSA). Danielson: 860-412-7220 or Willimantic Center: 860-423-1824. The BSA is approximately two hours. Submitting your SAT scores
Danielson students: A brief new student workshop will take place before the BSA. The workshop will include: navigating the QVCC website, logging into the MyCommNet portal, student Email, reviewing your financial aid eligibility & payment options. These will be held in the Advising Center in the West wing.
Additional information on the BSA & sample tests
SAT or ACT Scores
Eligible SAT scores: Critical Reading or Writing = 450 or higher
Math = 500 or higher
Eligible ACT scores: English = 21 or higher
English and Reading = 47 or higher
Math = 18-21
Assessment for placement in higher level mathematics may require testing. Students must provide copies of SAT or ACT test results.

ADVISING & REGISTRATION
New students are highly encouraged to meet with an advisor to select the courses appropriate for your degree and/or certificate. The Advising Center is located in room W107 in Danielson. Stop by or call 860-412-7266.
